Priority Access to H1N1 Vaccine Needed for Police
The Edmonton Police Commission is urging the Government of Alberta to immediately provide police with access to the H1N1 vaccine on a priority basis.
Police provide an essential service. The Government of Canada has specifically identified first responders as a group that would benefit from immunization because police are at greater risk of both contracting and spreading the H1N1 virus. Yet, Alberta Health Services has not included police in its high risk list and has not made the vaccine available to police outside of public immunization clinics. Read more
