Join us on Thursday, November 17, as the Edmonton Police Service presents the Annual Policing Plan (APP) Third Quarter Report. The 2016 APP consists of 23 public initiatives. Each initiative has been assigned a status – “on-target” or “off-target” – to indicate if the activities or goals for the initiatives are being met.
During the presentation of the APP second quarter report in September, the Commission requested additional information and analysis to address socioeconomic variables that may impact crime levels across Canada. This information will be provided in the third quarter reporting under Initiative #1, Crime Severity Index. The data will include three socioeconomic factors frequently cited by Centre for Justice Statistics (Statistics Canada) as having a correlation to crime levels: age, gender, and race.
