Since the Heavy Users of Service (HUoS) leadership group was formed in 2013, the collective ability to manage some of Edmonton’s most complex and vulnerable people has grown. The HUoS presentation will include updates on the program, the connection with 24/7 Crisis Diversion teams, the Community Centre at Boyle Street, and integrated case hub planning for the proposed community wellness centre concept.
In addition, the Edmonton Police Service will present the quarterly response times and dispatch call volumes report. This report provides second quarter statistics for priority one through five calls for service. Following a motion at the May 2017 Edmonton Police Commission meeting, the data now includes divisional analysis and steps to achieve performance targets.
The EPS will also provide an update on Project Watch, an initiative that addresses crime, disorder, and violence in and around several Edmonton hotels, motels, and rental accommodations. In the second quarter of 2017, eight new site inspections took place and several families were relocated due to dangerous living conditions.
